PRITONG MANOK


Paborito ng lahat lalo na ng mga bata itong fried chicken.   Kaya naman basta may pagkakataon ay nagluluto ako nito sa bahay.   Ofcourse, basta ang ang nagluto nito sa bahay, siguradong panalo sa aking mga anak.   Bakit naman?   Kasi nga sinasarapan ko talaga para magustuhan nila.

Kumpara sa mga fried chicken na available a mga fastfood, masasabi kong masarap pa rin ang lutong bahay.   Yun kasing nasa fastfood, kung hindi balot nang napaka-kapal na breadings eh walang lasa naman ang manok kung hindi mo lalagyan ng mga sauce o gravy.

Sa fried chicken ng mga pinoy, hindi tayo nagre-rely sa mga sauces o gravy na isinasama sa manok.   Ang ginagawa natin, tinitimplahan natin ang manok ng mga pampalasa para nanunuot ang lasa nito kapag kinakain na.   Marami tayong pwedeng pampalasa na ilagay.  Pangkaraniwan ang patis at calamansi.   Dito sa fried chicken na ginawa ko, nilagyan ko naman ito ng garlic powder at yung katas mula sa tinadtad na tanglad o lemon grass.    Masarap talaga ito lalo na kung bagong luto.   Try nyo din po.


PRITONG MANOK

Mga Sangkap:
1 kilo Chicken Legs (cut into thigh and drumsticks)
4 na tangkay na Tanglad  (yung white portion lang)
1 tbsp. Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp. Freshly ground Black Pepper
1 tsp. Maggie Magic Sarap
Salt to taste
1/2 cup Cornstarch
1/2 cup Flour
Cooking oil for frying

Paraan ng pagluluto:
1.  Sa isang bowl paghaluin ang garlic powder, asin at paminta.  
2.  Imasahe ito sa bawat piraso ng manok.
3.   Isalin ang manok at ang natirang pinaghalong mga sangkap sa isang plastic bag at ilagay na din ang tinadtad na tanglad.  Lagyan din ng 1/2 na tubig.   Isara ang plastic at hayaang ma-marinade ang manok ng mga 1 oras.   Overnight mas mainam.
4.   Alisin ang sabaw sa marinade mix at ilagay ang cornstarch at harina.
5.   Isara muli ang plastic bag at alug-alugin ang manok hanggang sa ma-coat ng harina at cornstarch ang lahat ng piraso ng manok.
6.  I-prito ito ng lubog sa mantika sa katamtamang lakas ng apoy hanggang sa maluto.

Ihain habang mainit pa kasama ng paborito ninyong sawsawang catsup o gravy.
